The history of Tsurumi Syuzoubegan in 1873 when Sadazo I, a dyer, started a sake brewing business.
Inheriting the traditional methods of sake brewing from the Tsushima region, we are working to develop better sake that is rich and full of the flavor of rice,
by skillfully blending the advantages of handmade production with modern quality control.
History of Owari Tsushima
As Nobunaga's kitchen,
a prosperous commercial city,
Owari-Tsushima
Since the Kamakura period (1185-1333), the city prospered as a key point connecting Owari and Ise across the Kiso San-river Tsushima.
Taking advantage of its location as a water town, industry flourished and
it was the commercial capital of Owari, called "Nobunaga's Kitchen" during the reign of Nobunaga Oda, a warlord of Owari in the Warring States period.
The Owari TsushimaTenno Festival, which has continued here for more than 500 years, is said to have been loved by Nobunaga Oda and Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and
is now designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset as "Owari TsushimaTenno Festival Sharaku Boat Event.
Blessed with an abundance of water from the Kiso San-river,
Tsushima flourished as a water town area, and
has a variety of specialty products.
Sake, in particular, has long been a popular sake brewing product, as the Tsushima Shrine
is a representative of the shrine's beliefs.
We, Tsurumi Syuzou, are a sake brewery that has inherited the history and methods.
Blessed with an abundance of water from the three Kiso Rivers, Tsushimahas flourished as a suigo (water town) area, and a variety of specialty products exist.
Among them, sake has long been a popular brewing product, as Tsushimasake has been a representative of the shrine faith.
We, Tsurumi Syuzou, are also a sake brewery that has inherited its history and methods.
